FAQ

Pay and travel

Salaries are paid a month in arrears on the 15th of the month.

Travel costs between service user addresses are covered by either a single, day or monthly bus ticket, whichever is cheapest.

All receipts for travel must be given to the office not later than the 3rd of the month.

Electronic login

Use the QR code in the service user home wherever possible. Manual booking should only be used in an emergency.

The login creates your timesheet and payroll record, proves attendance, supports package reviews and protects lone workers.

Annual leave

The holiday year starts from 1st April until 31st March. Holidays can be taken throughout the year, apart from the first 13 weeks of employment.

To request leave, log into Workforce and go to Employment, then Absences. Requests must be submitted at least 3 months in advance unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Workforce login

Sickness

Phone the office as early as possible on 0131 285 1606.

You also need to log into Workforce, go to Employment, then Absences, and complete an unplanned absence section.

Phones at work

Phones are used to access rotas, contact the office, log in and out of visits, record medication, record notes, and confirm completed tasks.

Staff are encouraged to sit with service users and participate in completing these tasks together.

Gifts and boundaries

No employee or member of their immediate family should accept money, gifts, equipment, services, facilities or anything else from suppliers, customers or anyone doing business with Social Care Alba.

If a gift is offered, advice from the office must be sought.

Safety

Infection control

We provide training and PPE to all staff. Please make sure that you always have enough PPE for your visits. Whenever you are running out or passing the office, please pop in to collect more.
